SUPEREGIONAL Works by Bruce Burris

Previous Exhibition in Fairbanks Gallery.

February 5 – March 1

Performance and reception Thursday Feb 8, 5-8pm

Burris describes the work in SUPEREGIONAL as “slouching toward commentary, poignancy and satire.” He said he hopes to provoke an awareness of the emotions we strive so diligently to ignore and forget.

“The work in SUPEREGIONAL concerns the lives of people close up and the chaos we conjure, close by, not necessarily in a representational or figurative sense, but rather more like a message found in a bottle,” Burris said. “The narratives can be read any which way the eye and mind determines would be best.”

Burris has worked in the field of arts and disability culture for more than 35 years. He has served as the founder, director or owner of a number of agencies and programs noted for creating innovative support systems to enable people to assume roles of significance in their community. He is currently the artworks director at Collaborative Employment Innovations (CEI) in Corvallis and the founder of Outpost 1000.
