Lora Redwine specializes in design education and graphic design launching her career as a pattern designer at a textile and rug company. A leadership role at a marketing company opened the door to event, package and publication design. Her teaching experience comes from a career as a full time graphic design instructor at The Art Institute of California-San Diego and several community colleges throughout California and Oregon. Lora’s experience as an educator and college-level course developer has brought her to OSU in 2022. This career path has allowed her to become a life-long learner, designing innovative training for online and on-campus learning. She is committed to creating accessible, clear and relevant training content with respect to different modalities of learning.

A culture of environmental stewardship and celebrating a pluralistic society where everyone is valued is important to her. Lora’s intention as an educator is to create a positive learning environment and help individuals build a knowledge base for personal and career achievement. She leads by example, encouraging reciprocity and cooperation within teams and believes active learning techniques improve student experiences and results. She thinks that ongoing professional development, embracing technology and process improvement are valuable components to teaching excellence in the field of graphic design.

“Creative people are incredible problem-solvers. With the power to invent new products and re-imagine the environments we live in; we can change the world.”
