Gobert Bio

Nyjah Gobert

GRAPHIC DESIGNER | PHOTOGRAPHER | HUMAN

Heyo, my name is Nyjah. Graphic Design is my niche, but humanity is my passion. I work with the people not for the people. The best way I could describe myself would be as follows: “Be the surprise onion ring in the order of french fries” (Do the F*cking Work By, Jason Bacher / Brian Birge / Jason Richburg). I’m that onion ring. I am currently situated in Vancouver Washington, but ready to be where the palms are. Wherever that may be. When I’m not working, I’m taking photos of anything that excites me, going to the beach, or sitting in a tattoo shop collecting new ink. Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my work, and don’t hesitate to reach out!

You can keep up with me on the gram if you’d like! https://www.instagram.com/gobert.nyj/

VANS Rebrand

This was a Vans has a grand multitude of creativity and inclusivity. These are part of their values and I as a designer I wanted to reconnect and bring the creative personality to life in their logo. I wanted folks to gravitate toward this brand and be proud to wear it. I tried to represent every aspect that the brand is involved in and compile it into something more. Here is a concept logo, and rebrand that I made for a course dedicated to branding.

TATTOO ZINE

This is a Zine of tattoo culture that takes place in Portland Oregon. The purpose of this magazine was to showcase my research; set type in aesthetically pleasing
hierarchy and construct pages that work well with the eye and the reader. This zine features two amazing local artists, a small bit of history and four spotlights of pieces I photographed on some artistic individuals.

The photography and illustrations are a combination of my own and photography and high quality photos from a free resource that artists upload to “Unsplash.com”, these artists were credited at the end of my magazine.

BARBER REBRAND

A clean, and fresh beginning for “Sutton Cuts”. This project was a personal based project experimenting with the type of work I would be interested taking on from clients. I enjoy building an identity for people and giving important communities a way to express their work through this identity.
